Default [SYD] Recommend steak/meat place near Martin Pl (dinner)

As in title. Needs to be fairly close to Martin Pl so we can go for dinner then back to work if necessary. Looking to go this Wednesday. We've been to Prime already, anything else good in the vicinity?

Ended up going to Kingsleys on Bridge. Decent steak, though not as good as Prime IMO (different style of cooking). Service very friendly but somewhat haphazard...we were brought bread without butter and an ordered beer was forgotten, had to be re-ordered with the butter. Don't get the mashed potatoes, it's just reconstituted stuff carefully shaped into a teardrop beige turd on the side of the plate . Get the chips.

The other one you might try would be Daniel's on Bent Street. I find they are not as flash as Prime, but better then Kingsleys. It's normally pretty quiet there. I think they may have changed hands/management recently as last time I was there I don't think it was as good as normal (but still better then Kingsleys).

There is a Kingsley's on King Street as well, quality is about the same as other Kingsley's.

There is I'm Angus in Cockle Bay, I think they are a little better then Kingsleys but they might be a little far away. They tend to be a lot busier then the others (mostly tourists I think).

That is about all I can think of, there is another place (or was) by the Royal Theatre but I can't remember what they are called.

Mm Daniel's was our backup, I walk past it on the way to work but I've never been. Will check it out next time

Took one look at that last time and nearly burst out laughing .

I'm curious as to what the fillet is like at Prime. If it's better than the rib-eye it'll be heavenly, but at 250g I'd need to stop at Maccas on the way home.

Well, I was disappointed with Prime last night.... normally I recommend Prime because of the extra level of service, but last night was a big let down on that front. The food was good, but not worth the price without that extra layer of service added in.

From now on I will be recommending Daniel's all the way,... what a pity it is not open on Saturdays...
