Default 2007 Australian ITF Taekwondo Championships

Some may or may not know, I am an avid martial artist. Over the weekend just passed I competed at the national competition and did quite well (2nd in sparring, 3rd in patterns).

I had my camera with me, and took a few shots.

You'd be surprised to know they were all taken with a 50 f/1.8 @ f/2.8 ISO 800. Damn good noise and sharpness for a 350D and a dodgy lens (in my eyes anyway).

Yes, they are a little underexposed... I haven't corrected them yet... and I shot in JPEG too (for the first time in what seems like forever).

The backgrounds are very distracting. A longer lens would have helped there but there may not have been room to use one.

Yeah, a 70-200 f/2.8 IS and a 5D would have been the perfect combination for the event.... anyone got a spare $8k?

Kuz, its the national championships under the AITF, but being hosted by Bai Rui in Brisbane (head of Bai Rui, Master Charles Birch, is now president of AITF so ran the first national event in a few years here. For reference, the old president, Master Daher, is now responsible for Oceania and is still an active part of AITF). So yeah, lots of Bai Rui people, but plenty of Jun Toong, Southern ITF, and Il Shim as well.
