I thought of this while drunk last night, and upon review this morning, I still think it is a good idea.
Imagine a Wii Gun holder in the shape of the rifle, that the Wiimote clips into to play FPS games! I envisage a gun similar to those shooter-style arcade games. The obvious draw-back is how to control movement, but for games like Time Crisis, it'd be sweet! I had a quick Google, and couldn't find if anything like this is planned. IMO, it'd be so much better then holding the Wiimote and pointing it at the screen. Thoughts?

Perhaps the trigger on the gun frame can simply push the trigger on the Wiimote? It'd be a crude implementation, but functional =P
Agree about weighting.. would realistic weight be too heavy?

You're kidding right?
They showcased the Wiimote rifle when they announced the Wii. http://e3.britishgaming.co.uk/2006/nintendo/wii/gun.jpg

You're a towel.
Google has let me down again =P Looks way different to how I imagined, but seems functional. Is that available in Aust. yet? And what games support it? =)

Hmmm... I hadn't seen that either - doesn't seem to connect the trigger in any way?

Well, turns out it's still vapourware, but someone did make a DIY mod, where it uses the 'b' button to fire - not very elegant, but hey, what you gonna do

There's no need; the Wii controller has a connector on the bottom for the Classic Controller and other peripherals. The gun's buttons are connected via it.

I had an idea similar to the gun but they're gloves with sensors where the movement points are on your hand (knuckles, bones etc.).
