anyone have a compaq m2000 series laptop (wollongong area), I need a favour, I need to try another battery from a compatible laptop to check an issue I have with my laptop. Replaced Inverter 4-5 weeks ago after it died, now when the laptop is on battery and I press the lid close button the screen goes dark, when I release the button screen wakes for 1-2 seconds and then goes dark. This does not happen on mains power.... suspect battery does not have enough juice to power up inverter ... ideas ???

Are you sure its not the power management kicking in and dropping the brightness to lowest?
If its not that, it seems more likely to be an inverter issue, lithium batteries only have drain issues when they are very old, and then they die quickly, but the current delivery is the same strength, just for much shorter time. |

I'm sure it's not what you said... I've turned all the power saving features OFF
Quote:
when on mains power can close the lid (or push the lid close button) and screen goes black, when I release the button screen lights up back to normal. when I disconnect the power adaptor and depress the screen close botton, screen black out, then when i release the button the screen comes up half bright for 1-2 seconds the goes black. whilst in this black state i reconnect the power supply, nothing happens until i re-push the screen down button and then let it go. Screen then comes up full brightness (ie. normal)... |
