This is what my settings are: ![]() Any ideas why it would apparently not work?

Anyone else have this MythVideo problem?
I have named all of my TV series to the format "title - [00x00] - subtitle.avi" for example (with correctly incrementing season and episode numbers), but MythVideo does not pick this up for all the files. It's strange because, usually, the first episode in the folder will be detected and have metadata downloaded fine, but the rest will then show "title - [" as the title of the episode, and not download metadata, indicating that perhaps something isn't being parsed correctly. Any ideas what I can do to fix this? Quote:

Press "I", choose "Metadata Options", then "Manually Enter Video Title" (if incorrect), or choose "Download Metadata" to try finding that title as given again.

I think I'll rename all my files to a more reliably parsed name; it was suggested I drop the square brackets, and see how I go then. It's just annoying that it works for some files and not others. I don't mind if it's universally broken but inconsistency I can't stand.

That was easier than I thought:
Code:
find . -iname "*.mkv" -exec rename -v 's/[\]]//' {} \;
find . -iname "*.mkv" -exec rename -v 's/[\[]//' {} \;
Now I have a new problem, though. I discovered that whenever I apt-get updated, MythVideo wouldn't work anymore. It was because I had at one point selected to use the 0.24 development branch of MythTV in my Mythbuntu control centre, and then changed it back again: updates kept installing mythvideo from that version and not updating from the 0.23+fixes branch. So, now I am trying to fix that and I think I've made things worse, some packages are 0.23+fixes and some aren't, and my database scheme is for 0.24 as well... aptitude remove mythtv just removes the metapackage and doesn't take everything else with it, what's the best way to completely uninstall everything MythTV so I can reinstall it again? Should I not bother and just go back to using 0.24, considering my database schema is at that version too? (1033)

It probably needs an offset. IIRC I did an auto-tune with kaffeine which found Ch9, and I then checked the freq it was using - it was out by a little and it turns out that needed an offset is relatively common.

I also think now would be a perfect time to do it - I think it would also teach you a little bit more about handling meta-packages by having to install the whole lot of required myth packages.

![]() There are settings in the backend that control how myth tunes channels, iirc it is something like coarse and fine tuning? Anyway, set it to the other setting if you can work out where it is. I'm not at home so I can't check atm unfortunately. EDIT: "Set in mythbackend "Always use quick tuning" - it should be one of the tv settings but I can't remember where." However, I am not so sure it's broken enough for me to warrant starting over. I'm going to have to play around with the package management, but that'll take less time for me to solve than a complete rebuild. Edit: OK, so I have turned it back to being 0.24 and changed the repo from "US" to "PPA" (international) and now it's all updated, but I'm having a problem with the frontend not being able to find the backend, which I think is just a port config issue. Edit2: Rebooted the machine, now it's all working just fine.
