Default Newbie overclocking advice

I wanna get abit more grunt from my system but i haven't done an overclock in 10 years! so i'm kinda outa the loop..

I have an AMD 3400 with a 6800 GT can anyone give me some pointers to a safe overclock that i can do without to much headache?
