Default Windows Error: Same error on 2 new installs?

I've just reinstalled Windows XP Home on my main pc, aswell as on my mother in-laws after building her a new pc.

I first noticed on mine whilst shutting down the pc i get:

'Disk Drive not Ready for use; its door may be open. Please check drive A: to ensure there is no cd in the drive and that the door is closed'

anyway... it nearly always come up when I'm shutting down... on both computers now

Couldn't find any help via google. I don't even have a drive A! in either machine.

Looks like you AV software is attempting to read removeable drives on shutdown

Cheers

AV software = Anti-virus software. Can be something like Norton Antivirus/McAfee Antivirus/Eset NOD32/or a few other varieties.

ah yes... I got NOD32 running on both machines. I haven't found anything to do with floppy drives in the options tho. Will keep looking...

okay found a setting to do with diskettes. and when I tried to scan disk A: it came up with the very same error msg! spot on Zzapped!! I hope thats the end of that.
