If you leave it to sit after cooking for about 1-2 minutes, the sauce should thicken.

Otherwise, check how much liquid you're putting into it.

BTW, I think Alfredo is meant to be a combination of parmesan and another cheese (probably cheddar). Hmmm, powdered cheese?

I knew a girl who would cook up the pasta alfredo packet, then use it to fill jaffles - talk about carbohydrates!

This thread probably belongs in Geek Food though.

I wouldn't take those Continental jobs as any kind of refernce on what Alfredo is MEANT to taste like I must admit I eat a heap of those things though, I've found they turn out better if you give them a little extra butter, a little less water, a little more milk, and cook them for a little longer. The stirring pattern I use is three minutes, stir, five minutes, stir, 3 minutes, stir. Works well

For a real easy meal which i think its pretty filling, buy some chicken fillets (how many for how many people you're feeding... ie 3) and cut them into strips. Grab a family pack of the alfredo, cook that and the chicken (seperatly first) then mix them together in one big bowl and serve your portions. Yummy!

i agree that alfredo is yummy. but i am watching my fat content so i usually add just a smidge of marg and add more water and less milk. just cook ot a bit longer so that the water evaporates away. i still rate it!
