Got the little Yamaha tuning fork logos for the fans which look a little better now.

Anyway, tremendous news............spoke to Willie at HWLabs the other day about a custom radiator for this project as i wanted something real special and the outcome is they are now busy fabricating a one off GTX for me which is well above and beyond the norm so i'm extremely grateful to those guys and can't wait to get my hands on it.........how cool is that

Just hope i can do it justice:S

Your case is looking fantastic. So much attention to detail. I'm afraid if I buy a Stacker 810 as my next case it'll seem ridiculously boring now by comparison.

Keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing the GTX.

Nearly forgot to post an update

Got all the tins back from the body shop after being clear coated which is absolutely outstanding as it is but the guy that did it is even coming to my house tomorrow night to give the top and sides a final machine polish which i'll see if i can get some pictures of if he doesn't mind.

In the mean time i started riveting most of the chassis back together and tried to take some pictures of the new shininess

Yeah just to clear that up i'm using a filler primer which is really thick and hides a lot more imperfections than ordinary primer so after a couple of coats of that i let it dry completely then wet sand with 2000 grit which gives a perfect base to start the colour - 4 coats of yellow then wet sanded again which gets rid of any orange peel.

You can see it better on a previous Stacker how wet sanding works....... Black after sanding then After machine polished

I'm using ordinary rattle cans with flat spray nozzles which are much better for getting an even layer of paint rather than the normal cone type .

I got the paint from a Yamaha dealer (£47.00 per Ltr) and had a friend at our local car accessory shop to decant it into rattle cans with the flat nozzles.

Due to all the overlaid graphics etc. it went into a car body shop to have a final clear coat then into the oven and baked followed by a machine polish tomorrow.

UPS turned up yesterday morning bright and early with my custom GTX but turns out the barbs are on the wrong sides which i'm totally gutted about then the guy turns up to my house to machine polish all the paint and after a red hot day we just had the thunderstorm from hell just as he got all his gear laid out, needless to say that didn't happen either.

I hate Mondays

You can see what the problem is.........barbs are in the wrong corners so outlet is obstructed by the motherboard bracket which is a real bummer considering HWLabs went above and beyond to make a one off GTX for this mod.

There is a workaround but it would mean moving the whole radiator and hose wouldn't look as good as i'd planed.

Anyway i'm trying to forget about yesterday
