Default TV resolution for PC

Hi guys ive had my pc hooked up to my tv, but must of been in pixieland cause ive been running it as a 4:3 ratio @ 800x600. the tv is a rear projection 143cm widescreen, and it just occured to me then that when i watch 4:3 movies it fills the screen whereas my HD 16:9 recordings have black bars top and bottom... the problem is that in windows settings theres no widescreen tv resolutions, and i cant find what my tv's native resolution is so i can do a custom one through nvidia. If i clone the 1440x900 from the LCD i have its too big for the tv as you can imagine TV reso's arent great...... can anyone help me at all???? thanks

well i just downloaded the manual from the LG website and it says the resolution required is 640x480.

Quote:
Set the resolution of PC to VGA 640x480 (60 Hz) video mode
to use this set as PC monitor.

Yep, most TV's will only do that. Yours is a RP, which doesn't have such a great resolution as the plasmas/lcds.
