Default Game (Game Wizards) Console Trade In: Xbox 360 = $199, PS3 = $499

Guys I was in Game Liverpool today and I was quite shocked to see a trade in deal they had where you trade in your Xbox or PS2 console, with one controller, all cables + any 10 games (from either platform) and you could pick up the PS3 for $499 or Xbox 360 for $199! And the 360 is the premium pack as well!

I haven't really been following the console market but isn't this a good deal? I believe the price of a Premium 360 atm is around $600~ while the PS3 is around $1000~ isn't it?

I'm so damned tempted to go trade in my Xbox/PS2 for the 360!

Dayum that's a good deal
In comparison, EB are offering the same thing (10 games + PS2 + $199) but only for a Wii!

I have 9 games, a PS2 and $199
BUT
Seeing as I already have a PS3, I really don't have enough free time for a 360 right now.

So i stand there waiting while they test 10 discs?

Im asking this in all seriousness? some of them boot fine and then freeze at a "certain point in level 3".

I suppose honesty is the best policy and they should find there way to the bin

Do you think the 360's are refurbished ones?

I've done the deal at Game for a Wii.
It's a working console(PS2/ XBOX) + 10 games. The games must have case and their manual books. There is also a list of unwanted games that will not work with the trade in. It's about a dozen games that they dont want from each console system. This is because they said they have too many copies of them already.
They will inspect your console and games on the spot but not turn them on to test.
The Xbox360, PS3 or Wii they give you are brand new with 12 months warranty. Albeit extra warranty can also be purchased.

The Getaway on PS2 is one of those that they don't want.

Thanks! I would be very interested in the outcome.

Also, anyone know if this trade-in thing runs all the time, or is it a set period only?

Well I hope not but thats what they told me at 2 different stores as I was unwilling to trade in my PS2 and wanted to think about it a bit longer.

I just went to Game in mount druitt...
their deal was $699 for a ps3 when you trade a NON-MODDED ps2 + 10 games + controller/cables...
the guy was reluctant to give me a list of what games are excluded, but i got it out of him... I have the xbox list too if anyone wants it

gran turismo3
getaway
max payne
spiderman movie
grand theft auto 3
nfs underground
true crime
crazy taxi
v8 supercars
matrix
fifa 2004
red faction

the reason for the list is that they have a million copies of these games...

is it just mount druitt doing 699? i was planning on getting one for 500

and yeh, i really wonder to what extent they'd test it, and if they have a "backup" to test its modded'ness
