Compaq Evo D510 Desktop Series with Intel 845G Chipset

Im going to update an old pc to run vista, could people please suggest the max cpu for this computer please?

Ill also be upgrading the ram to 1gb ddr 400 pc3200 and the video card to a 7100 low profile agp card.

Has anyone else had any success, any replys are appreciated.

The specs on the page tell you you can go for any 400/533fsb 478-pin Intel CPU you want.

If you have one of the smaller ones (i.e. the ultra-slim desktop) I would not recommend upgrading the CPU as they have no fan on the heatsink.

noted, ive installed the 2 x 512mb pc 3200 400mhz ram, and its running sweet, just need to source a decent low profile video card now, which is proving harder than expected.
