I can think of three DV6xxx models with a 160GB hard disk. You'll need to be more specific: what's the CPU, RAM...?
If it's a 1.73GHz Core2 Duo, you can get it for $1563 If it's a 1.83GHz Core 2 Duo with 1GB RAM, you can get it for $1999 If it's a 1.83GHz Core 2 Duo with 2GB RAM, you can get it for $2299 |

Gezze $300 for 1GB of ram extra, that's insane. You can pick up 1GB for less than $80 these days.

HP isn't as good value in their notebooks as Toshiba at the moment; $1997 (RRP) gets you a Core 2 Duo 1.73GHz with 2GB of RAM and $2292 gets you the same with a 2GHz CPU. |

From what I've read and my experience with a bunch of different lappies, Toshiba's are generally top notch when it comes to build quality and reliability.

A200/K00 for the Toshiba (can be had for $1790 or so, I'm sure) Much of a muchness in terms of build quality, I'd say. |

What I'd like to know is why neither the Toshiba or HP are available here with 2.0Ghz processors.
They are available overseas

Is the difference between 1.83GHz Core 2 Duo
and 2.0Ghz processors noticeable in normal use ?

I doubt it.
It'd be more evident if you're running any CPU-intensive operation that would normally take a fair amount of time, i.e. the 2GHz would take 9secs where the 1.83GHz takes 10secs. |
