Default How much ram do you have/use in your main pc?

Yes a poll on this. I will add enough options to hopefully cover the majority of users.

Basically add your vote to the poll, and if your feeling extra generous maybe a post on what ram your using

I have 2GB in my "main PC" which is running XP so I voted for that.

But my new server has 4GB running Linux - it's the first time a computer that isn't my main PC has had higher specs (memory and everything else).

As per the other thread, currently 4Gig and loving it......even with XP it adds a nice little boost to the feel of windows. Currently using 4 x 1G sticks of Geil 667 DDR2 - the extra 2G was bought on impulse and had I known beforehand I would have obviously gone the 2 x 2G sticks. Ah well.

Vista is very smooth now.

How much memory has your video card got and how much of that 4GB is Win XP actually utilising? Just out of interest because if I build a new workstation soon I'll want 4GB of RAM and Win XP as well.

640Meg on the video card (8800GTS). Apparently XP can utilise 2G but can handle 4G, or something to that effect.

Usage tonight while doing nothing really:

5 IE windows open, Mailwasher, 1 windows explorer, plus a few other basic apps open.

Don't know if that tells you much. I really know very little when it comes to windows and memory utisation.

Hmm, your Windows sees 3.6gb, interesting.

I've got 2x1gb G.Skill F2-6400CL5D-2GBNQ - running at 950MHz at stock timings with 2.15v

4 Gig RAM
XP 64

Working all nice and dandy
Kernel running on the ram
Just makes app switching so nice and fluent or almost immediate.

From what I've quickly read last night that's all it will read, ie 3.5G.
