768Mhz of pretty slow RAM in my PC. Will upgrade to 2GB of DDR3 probably when I get money (which will probably be around the time it is mainstream heh...)

Here is the link that talks about having more then 3GB in a 32bit system (may also apply to people with 64bit systems). This may explain why your system is only using 3.6GB of RAM.

Default RAM RAM RAM RAM

I currently have 4 computers running.

One for business use with 1GB Corsair TWIN X1024 DDR

One for Gaming 3GB Corsair Twin X2048 DDR2 6400

One for Internet 1 GB Corsair Value Ram 256 X4

One for the kids 1GB some generic stuff that was lying around

All in all, there is nothing wrong with just adding RAM to any system, it will improve performance.

The biggest improvent was when I shut down 250 USELESS parts of XP that were just not needed.

Currently waiting for the next batch of motherboards to arrive and will then build a CORE 2 DUO 4GB system with WD Raptors for gaming.

I have 2x1gb Kit of A-DATA 800mhz and 1x1gb kit of G.Skill 667mhz and both run 333mhz @ 4-5-5-15 (prolly could be better but CBF tightening it). I have never seen all of my ram used. I only got the A-DATA cause it was cheap. The next week MSY had OCZ system elite stuff with the same specs for the same price .
Meh. Oh yeah, the 1gb cost me $170 back at the end of '06 and the 2gb cost me $150. Haha, how prices change
To whoever has more than 4gb, what do you use it for? Do you do CAD at work or something>
