I turned my laptop (xps m1210) on this morning and found a few black pixels...at first i thought they are dead pixles but then it started moving.
It seems to be between one of the layers...any ideas what i should do? It has stopped moving and is just sitting in the corner .here is pic: Click to view full-sized image! Click to view full-sized image!

lol.
Maybe find someone who knows how to disassemble the LCD panel? I've done a quick google on it but can't find anything for the M1210 specifically. Still under warranty? |

[edit] you'd think the LCD would be sealed so no dust etc can get in...how a bug gets in there is beyond me.

Just an update (incase anyone else gets this rare problem)...i gave the excellent XPS tech support a ring and they have organised a tech to come around to fix/replace the LCD on monday.
Gotta love XPS service

yeah i ran through all the diag tests with the tech (one which cycles through all colours to identify dead pixels etc) and its nothing with the actual LCD....moreso that there is this creature stuck in there lol (you can see if even if the laptop is off).

I've had the same thing happen with a 17 inch LCD of mine. The bug moved around in there for a couple of days then just stopped. Is dead in there. I've got a new monitor since then and given that one to my Mum so doesn't bother me anymore
