1. i get a balloon popup regularly saying ' usb device not regognised' even on a new installation of xp...it says thres something on on my usb 2 root hub,but i cant get it to stop ..any ideas?

2. when i bought the laptop it had bluetooth icon in system properties..in bios it said bluetooth wasnt installed..BUT!...on a couple of bios checks it said it was installed??!?? could it be loose or something? where do they put bluetooth on the d600,is it on the motherboard?(i think i have the dell 1350 in the mini pci slot....

From what You're saying, I guess 1 and 2 are related to the bluetooth module. Have you downloaded the bluetooth drivers from the dell website and installed them?

That may resolve the "unrecognizable device" on USB root 2!

My guess anyway...

i,ll give it a try...but i donjt see how no drivers would affect bios reporting wether its installed or not ...im hoping its installed, but i can live if its not..that usb ballon popup is annoyong thoug..and when you go into hardware devices, theres no yellow exclamation marks, what you would expect if its a driver isuue..

This is where your bluetooth card will be installed (if it has one installed):

http://support.ap.dell.com/support/e...ue.htm#1000550

Open it up, get the model number, and the correct drivers from dell. Easy done.
