My compaq presario v6301au is starting to boot up with a blank screen and I don't know why it is happening. Before this it suddenly "disconnected" itself and now it boots with a blank screen. It takes me a few goes to get it working and when it does I get a BSOD which is really annoying.
Here's the image of the BSOD.

I checked the IRQLs and there's no conflict so I don't know what is causing it. I've updated the notebook's BIOS.

perhaps read up on these forums, as they have the exact same problem as you and their suggestions to fix it:

OK, I'm not really worried about the BSOD as much but what has me worried is the blank screen on boot up.

NVata, sounds like you have an Nvidia chipset. ATA is self explanitory, either it is a driver issue with your chipset, or the laptop is having troubles accessing the hardrive.
try and take the hardrive out, clean all contacts etc, and run the recovery partition. better still, if its under warranty ring up the bastards at compaq. see what they say. edit: when you do, do not update to the latest driver. it could be an issue with the new driver which is a common cause. Have a look here and here to troubleshoot Windows stop errors....
If you have failed to log on since the BSOD, you should be able to use the "Last Known Good Configuration" startup option (press F8 at startup and browse the advanced startup options). If you have logged on since the stop error however, this option will not work in this case. HTH |

OK, my notebook's display just disconnected on me again. I heard the sounds and it's annoying.
Here's the photo of the glitch that started it all.
