It's ok guys.

I spoke to my local bottleshop a few minutes ago and he's assured me the taste will stay the same

Apparently they've rejigged the recipe ever so slightly to take account of the tiny drop in alcohol content.

And to those who say only bogans drink VB I say to you that you know nothing about beer taste - and I bet your beer preference is determined by the image you wish to project

Good grief, wait for someone to grab this and make it part of their election platform.

Despite what I said 2 minutes ago in another thread, THIS is why I know most people are morons. If you ran a survey right now on what people cared more about, VB going up IRs going up, I'm willing to bet the majority will complain about beer!!!!!!!

Last time I checked, Beer wasn't some household necessity people....

I will only drink VB with no alternative, and recently would rather not have a beer at all if that was all that's on offer.

Go have yourself a nice Becks, then try and drink a VB....you can't do it!!!!

Oh and if you really want to hit the cans, don't go near VB, you'll wake up with the migraine to end all migraines....

No...but its one of the few things we tolerate getting double taxed on by the government (excise+GST). The good old vice tax...

Just think of the price increase on VB as a long-overdue tax for bringing down the image of the beer industry as you'll be right

I believe this indicates a reluctance to come out of the closet

Just some of these posts, VB isn't the worst beer you make it out to be and is not THAT bad on tap/hot summer day.

Though I don't get reducing alcohol content, which saves them money and than raising the price.

Only real men drink VB, such as David Boon.

If I got paid a shitload of cash to endorse it, I'd drink it too.

Err I think Boonie was drinking VB long before they paid him to endorse it...

Anyone remember his famous record during a flight from England to Australia?

Quote:
Boon achieved much fame and notoriety for consuming 52 cans of beer on a flight between London and Sydney[1] before the victorious 1989 Ashes tour that saw Australia regain the trophy after five years of English dominance; the previous record had been held by Rod Marsh, who it is believed consumed 45 cans, although there is conjecture as to whether Marsh actually finished can #45, and some believe his attempt only equalled the record of 44 cans set by Doug Walters. Boon is often jokingly referred to as the "Keg on Legs" because of his legendary drinking exploits and dogged, iconoclastic batting displays. He is a unique interview guest, often giving short, clipped, amiable answers to every question.

More recently he became the face of Victoria Bitter (VB) beer for its 2005/06 summer advertising campaign, called Boonanza. Part of the promotion was the sale of a talking David Boon figurine with purchases of beer, which would make comments when prompted by Channel Nine commentary.

So take beer content away .... yet charge more.

Only A Victorian would think that up!

Hmm if McDonalds took 1 gramm out of a Quarter Pounder and then raised the price..the world would go into meltdown!!
