Default Which Laptop Acer or Asus

Hi Guys,

Looking at a new latptop for general usage, programming, wireless hotspots, etc

I am looking at either the

1. Asus F3SC-AS014E Notebook with extra 1GB Ram to make 2GB - Core2Duo T7100
2. Acer TRAVELMATE 5720G - 101G16N w/ Vista Business - Core2Duo T7100
3. Acer TRAVELMATE 5720G - 302G20n w/Vista Business - Core2Duo T7200

Which out of the Asus & Acer would you choose?

In your own opinon do you think their much difference between a Core2Duo T7100 and Core2Duo T7200 CPU

Thanks

Matthew

I don't know about the difference with the t100 and the t200 but I would pick Asus as the better brand.

without even looking at the specs, the asus is the way to go.

and yes, the T7100 would be the better processor, being part of the latest santa rosa chipset lineup from intel...

Another vote for ASUS.
I bought my g/f an ASUS W3N laptop about a 1 1/2 years ago. Main reason was because of the international warranty.

On the Acers, read this first:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=136079

Personally, I'd get the Asus, because I know what their quality is like, and I know how good their support structure is if you need it (and it's good).

They also have F3J's with similar spec to the Acers, usually for less than the F3Sc (being a runout model does that).

Asus. Asus. Asus.

Definately the better soltuion. Even if it costs more, it'll be worth it.

what are you going to be using it for?

T7100 is 1.8ghz

T7200 is 2.0ghz

but the T7100 is socket P and is of a later generation of core 2 processors than the T7200.

hence why even though its slower, to futureproof myself id buy the santa rosa model (T7100). in real life you arent going to notice a difference and if you do, youre kidding yourself.

i have two acer aspire 3500 laptops here, identical except one has a 1.4 and one has a 1.6ghz celeron M dothan core processor...you would never be able to pick which was which unless you ran some benchmarks (super pi calculates pi to 2m places 10 seconds faster in the 1.6).

ASUS. Normally I am not into the brand thing but Acer sucks...

I bought my girlfriend an ASUS notebook, build quality is not comparable to Lenovo but they are very good, runs cool without problem. TBH, performance in real world is minimal between 7100 and 7200.

I have just been looking at the Lenovo notebooks and see this one

Lenovo 3000 N200 (0769CWM)

http://www-604.ibm.com/webapp/wcs/st...86018425308773

Does anyone here have one of these or have seen one. I want to know if this notebook has a free Express Card Slot.
