Default Asus Pundit P2-AE2 + Vista?

Im wanting to run media center on this just for playback of pics, music, vids and im tossing up between Media Center and Vista Ultimate...anyone running vista on somthing like this and how does it run?

Motherboard - Asus Pundit P2-AE2 barebones
Processor - AMD Socket 754 3000+ Sempron
Chipset - VIA K8M800 + VT8237R
Memory - 1GB DDR
On-Board Video - VIA UniChrome Pro IGP

IMO Vista Ultimate is overkill for a HTPC

Go media centre or one of those many free 'media centre' software thingys/OS, eg. myth tv
