Slower than a wet week

Ok guys and gals
this is it so far build a new system and it seems slow can anyone help ?
Aqua mark score 144 000
3dmark05 14063
Power supply toughpower 750w
Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 thermaltake fan
Gskill 6400phu2-2gbhz DDR2
2 wd80gig raid
Gforce 8800gtx
Vista basic Home

can you give us a bit more of a descriptive detail of the system ?

generally:
Power supply
CPU and cooling method (if aftermarket HSF or watercooling the products used)
Memory
Hard Drive
Graphics Card
OS in this case ?

14K 3DM score seems normal/high to me? mine tops out around 11K with my rig

Howcome you went for a E420 when you have a 8800GTX?

Is it overclocked?

Where do i start for a bit better performance?
and can i get better performance from this system there are a few options in the bios where you can change the basic motherboard performance with cia2? but is that the best option

yeah, well if no-one else is going to jump in, I suggest go find some newer drivers [assuming you havn't already] if your not happy with your results, i had to wait for better vga and chipset drivers with vista ultimate because of bad frame rates etc. considerable improvements were gained with updates. I have no doubt you will get better marks. try xp pro for a comparison. considering your hardware is pretty good.

change the fsb by about 20mhz or 30, set voltages to manual, at stock voltage, and see what happens, remember, watch temps ;]

all the drivers have ben updated bios was flashed to the lasted version f5 i think?

Price i guess got it if e bay for $130.00 it is easy for me to up date the cpu in the future than the video card
the gforce8800gtx has a ntune option where you can adjust the core bus & the memory bus
stock settings are core bus 576mhz and memory bus 900mhz what do you think i should adjust first if any thanks also guys for your patience (newbie)
