Default ASUS F3JP Antenna problem

Last night I was in battery mode using my wireless network quite happily. I hibernated the laptop and when I turned it back on this morning and the laptop recovered from hibenation, the antenna has been turned off and it won't turn back on.

I have tried to turn it back on using Fn->f2 however it won't let me toggle through the wireless options. Rather it shows, me that the wireless option is in use however it has a red cross on it. It won't let me select anything else and no matter what I have tried

Does anyone know how to fix this. Is there some where else you need to go to to turn on the antenna on these laptops ?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Joe

this happens to my asus M5N sometimes too. Not sure why it does that, but once you restart it'll be fine. Doesnt really present any problems to me cuz it only happens occasionally. If you wanna get it checked out you maybe you should ask the asus service centre.
I hope its fixed after you restart.

Sounds like a siftware bug to me in that when the wireless goes to sleep it either doesn't wake up again or reestablish the connection.

Under network connections, try "repairing" the connection or even disabling then renabling. Otherwise, a reboot should as noted above fix it and if pain persists, take it up with your warranty before it expires.

I get a similar issue using my billion usb 802.11g adapter, but the software is smart enough to realise it needs to wake up although sometimes it gets stuck and i need to play with it manually (most likely signal/router related).
