Default 2900xt performace on p35 or p965 chipset

In one of the 2900xt threads i read that P35 chipset is the way to go with this card. Is there a noticeable difference if i was to run it on a 965 chipset. Im looking at buying one next week.

Cheers

Thanks for that,
The difference is about 1-3 fps (single card) assuming the 975 and 965 are on par with eachother.

Looks like Ill be going to msy this weekend for a 2900xt. The thought of lining up there makes me want to throw up :P

lol i reckon. They've lost so many sales through me because of that

Get half way through the door, gawk at the lineup, turn around, go down to Capitol Square

Do you know what brand 2900 you're going to get?

Hehe. I feel the same way. Sometimes I just go to Computer and Parts Land, the stuff there is usually a little bit dearer but less lines, better support and the place looks much classier. I couldn't be bothered to line up for >40min just to save $10 sometimes!
