This is really good with a homemade peanut satay sauce. I love 'em!

I have to say there are some very strange combinations in this thread.

But I guess it takes all kinds.

hmm

raisin toast + cheese
ham/salami + pineapple

a lot of sweet fruits complement savory foods rather well.

Bacon + baked beans

Cook the bacon as desired, then cut into strips. Just make sure that you don't use too much baked beans/sauce because it overflows in alot of jaffle makers.

I've been having an unhealthy weekend toasted sandwich now, it's good thick bread with a liberal amount of grated tasty cheese and a sprinkling of a herb mix containing dried oregano, basil, rock salt, cracked pepper and dried sundried tomatos.

Jamie Oliver had a section of one of his books dedicated to the toasted "sarnie".

Try making your fave with puff pastry for a change (got to be breville for this one). Or put olive oil on the outside instead of butter for a chewier sanger.
do you cook the egg before chucking it in the toastie machine or do you crack the raw egg on the bread in the toastie machine then let the machine cook the egg?

banana and peanut butter is another awesome combo - like my mention on the first page of peanut butter and strawberry jam.

i recently tried other types of jam - forest fruits, blackberry - just DOES NOT WORK. strawberry is the ONLY way to go.

another good one is just plain coon tasty cheese, and white bread. LOTS of cheese. really thickly sliced. awesome

When i cook the breaky becs it depends on what toaster im using. If its just a flat press it can be tricky to keep the egg in the bread so i normally par cook it before it goes in. If its one of the old style jaffle makers the raw egg goes in and the cooker does the rest.

For something different get a loaf of unsliced bread nice and fresh from your local bakery and cut a nice big at least 1" think slice of bread now make a pocket in it length ways and stuff it with your favorite toppings and fry either side of whack it in a sandwich presss and cook I like doing sliced perperoni, mushrooms, cheese and onions and making a pizza pocket. A nice variation of the classic

I would never eat Kraft Singles ever EXCEPT on toasted cheese sandwiches....delicious imo. Only edible melted though...

I'm a fan of the bolognese jaffle, but I prefer old bolognese cold. The ham and cheese is killer, toss in some pineapple and i'm happier! When I do pineapple i often jsut throw it in the jaffle iron on it's own to cook it a little first, then put it in the sanga. outside of the bread tastes a little pineappley, and you get a tasty toasted sanga!

When we first got ours I hammered it with tomato and cheese every time.
I ate so much tomato and cheese that I can't eat it anymore.
But at the moment the classic cheese, chicken and avocado is something I can't go past.
