Yep, thats the exact one. I wanted a 3 channel chopper for decent forward movement (without adding weight). Its really for shits and giggles, but it will give me an indication of if I really want to pursue real RC helis. I haven't actually received it yet, its on its way though, I'll let you know how it is when it arrives.

I've got one, don't bother. You can't control where it goes, just up and down. Having said that it was fun for about 2 minutes making it move around, the instructions (really bad Engrish) say it moves forward when you turn right, and stops when you turn left, but thats just bullshit- all it does is spin in mid air.

Buy one, use it a couple of times, then you probably won't ever use it again. Novelty factor to the extreme!

I added weight to the nose too (it comes with little aluminium stickers) thinking this would give it a steady forward movement, but no. Still spins in mid air :S

Well over a grand including the radio. There's better choppers available but the T-Rex's are the industry staple of the CP range and so it makes it a lot easier to get parts and advice as a T-Rex owner.

Well just off the top of my head I'd take Avants and Raptors because they make larger sized birds which are far more stable and far more intense to fly, Dragonus for their incredible stability and SJMs which have better detail in the workmanship and materials any day of the week over your T-Rex.

Would I recommend them to someone starting in CP's? No, like I already mentioned - its because the T-Rex is so common that it's the best place to start.

Hi, have you read the first few pages of this thread? Plenty of info there.

For the short version - my pick is either the Lama V3 or V4 depending on which style of housing you prefer, both available from www.wattsuprc.com.au.

i have read this thread, but why did some one else say the honey bee king v2 is more sterdy, just wondering..... as if its more sterdy its better....and lots of people say v3 is much better than v4 but none can really say why? also as its battery how long will it last i really dont want to be constantly charging i want a good flight with it.....

also is battery better than petrol? or whats the go with that? you can get trex is nitro but you can also get battery?

hmmm decisions....

The HB King is a CP, the V3/V4 are CX choppers so you need to decide what is a better trade-off for you, chopper agility vs learning time. And how long will which battery last? Most vendor websites have their battery times listed, just check the official sites.

I've never seen an SJM in the flesh, but there's pics here - http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/t288161p3/

And a quote - I do like the heli, but its alot querkier than im used to, Ive spent more time fixing this thing than flying it, and Im very patient when it comes to setup. I wont fly unless its tracking properly and the swash is spot on, but this thing had been exhibiting some crazy behavior that I can only see as some binding in the head somewhere.

... and another - Overall, I'm very happy with it. But it's no T-Rex.

The T-Rex SE looks, to me, much nicer.

I appreciate that you desperately want to take the contrarian point of view to jakes, because his wang is larger than yours... but seriously?

So finish this sentence for me. You've never seen an SJM, jakes has never flown a T-Rex, but you guys are right because....?

And just to be clear about what you're trying to start an argument over, exactly which model of the SJM range was that post even referring to, compared to which model T-Rex?

Here's a picture of the swash assembly on the 400 V2, notice my earlier comment about workmanship?

And an SJM in action:

Care to add your expert commentary to those other alternative CP models I listed while you're at it?
