Question ATI to Nvidia help please

Hi all, I remember a few years back if you were changing between ATI and Nvidia cards and vice versa you had to be very careful about removing the drivers even to the extent of a driver removal tool. Is this still the case with the newer drivers? I am going from a ATI HIS X800GTO Turbo to a nvidia Gainward 8600GTS under win xp. Please let me know if any further details are required. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Not much has changed. It's still best to uninstall the old drivers and then use DriverCleaner to get rid of any remaining bits.

http://www.overclock.net/downloads/1...pro-1-5-a.html

... you could try that I guess. It may not support vista tho.

The newer version of driver cleaner requires you to pay for it... so that's a bit sucky
