i cant believe ive never had jerky before - i cant stop eating the stuff. i love it.
The only one ive actually had and liked is Jims jerky (http://www.jimsjerky.com.au). Im not a fan of the stuff you get from coles. This stuff is dry, chewy, not oily, tastes great - not like some plastic crap ive had. I was wondering if any1 else has had jerky they recommend. I was looking for another good brand cuz i thought $60kg was a bit steep. Did a bit of a search (on here and google) and found NT jerky (http://www.territoryjerky.com.au) but $31 per 250g... maybe not Any people have any fav's Note: ive seen the "make your own jerky / biltong" and whilst interesting i have no intention on making it

There is a butcher around the corner from me in Perth.. Conways i think it's called.
They do the most amazing biltong and drowers (can't spell it right.. basically dried sausages..). I've probably spent close to $600 on stuff from them over the last 4 or 5 months. I take it up to site and chew on it whilst i'm working underground. EDIT: your jims jerky link doesnt work?

There's a bracket at the end of the link that you need to remove. www.jimsjerky.com.au

I used to eat a few packets a day of "Roadkill" jerky when I was in Exmouth, washed down with EB on tap. Just the thing after a hard day's SCUBA or chasing whale sharks.
Got the fella to send over a few packs later on, the first batch was good, the second less so.

Melbournite? The South African produce stall from Queen Victoria markets makes a great biltong, I prefer a jerk however.

Agree with Agg, Roadkill is the best! We sell it in our pub and both the regular and chilli are awesome! Although I have to say, Barossa Fine Foods make an excellent jerky, and it's only about $38/kilo when ordered in a kilo or more (bought a couple kilos for me and a mate about a year back. talk about jerky overload!

Jerky is awesome!
I live in the NT so obviously I eat the NT Jerky stuff. Whilst it isn't bad, it isn't great either. I had a mate who made some during the dry season and that shit was the bomb! |
