Default AC adaptor not working

hi everyone

I've got a mate who has a Medion Laptop which currently does not respond to the AC Adapter (both running off the power and charging). It is definatly not the battery and AC adaptor. Only thing left is the motherboard.

By this description (thats all we can find out for now), what are the chances of fixing this problem? would he just need to resolder a few joints/wires?

Cheers

My next point of interest would be the inbuilt PSU/power regulatory unit but i haven't got an idea on how to check that

That would involve taking the system apart and using a multimeter, something that is outside of most people's skill level,

I would be talking to your local Apple dealer.
