a quick google tells me nf4 which means a total of 20 lanes which still doesnt work out quite right...UNLESS

your video card is forced to run in 16x (even with sli enabled, as its a software switch not a physical sli key switch), leaving 4 lanes between the rest of the slots.

have you tried the adaptec card in the first slot and video in 2nd? can you boot like that?

yeh ive tryed that, however only detects 1x PCI-E raid card..........doesnt boot it in pre windows bios boot

im glad you have that working, but excuse me for a sec...

Why did you decide to run 2x 4 port sata cards instead of 1x 8x pci-e 8 port card like a highpoint 2320 or something similar? Would have been easier in the long run, and you could have run it in the second 8x pci-e slot and still had you graphics card working.

beacuse highpoint rocket raid is too much out of my budget thats why, plus this works perfecty

i got there brand new @ $117 each so i cant complain really

yeah i did Only had about 3.7TB then though. Have invested seriously in 500gb's since then. Although i have bought about 4 500's from centrecom for about $145.

i got them @ cnet as centrecom didnt have any in stock

anyways, ill stop braggin now
