Waited along time for Ep.2. It's the only game in the package I actually want.
They can shove portal + everything else that's in that package.
Will these be released indivudually at launch?

F*** buying that all again. Can I buy just TF2 and Episode 2? I've already got HL2 & Ep1, don't want to buy it twice. This better be longer than Ep1 as well. That was totally not worth the money...

The wankers seem to have priced it so that you end up buying Half Life 2 again.

According to that for just TF2 & HL2 Ep2 I'd be paying $60. So it's cheaper to buy everything all over again as you'll only pay $44.95... What a rip off. Make TF2 & HL2 Ep2 just $10-15 each. You can apparently give the extra copies of HL2 and HL2 Ep1 to someone, but what'll happen is, they'll get hooked on the game and want to buy HL2 Ep2 as well and have to purchase the orange pack again. Thus they'll send that to another friend and the cycle will continue. Great marketing theory in practice, royal ****over for the users.

yep, its definitely a rip off when you want two things that cost $60, or can get them in a bundle with extras for $44.95. When will they learn.

as long as people continue to buy into their bullshit. the blackbox was originally just tf2/portal/ep2 guess they decided the profit margin wasn't high enough. plus they can con the people into buying hl2etc because they probably only want portal and tf2 but it works out the same or more expensive.

No. They've just priced them to be $30 each when they're not worth that. They've done it deliberately so you end up with spare copies of HL2 and Ep1 which you'll then pass onto your friends... and now I'm repeating myself.

My point is they are clearly not worth $30 each if they're "giving away" $85 for free.

Holy shit either you're intentionally trying to be a retard or your brain is broken in some fundamental way. TF2 is a standalone game - it's worth more than $10-$15 alone. You've got stupidly false expectations of how cheap things should be.

You clearly have no idea how online distribution works - it costs NO more for the company to include HL2 and Ep1 in the orange box than not to do so. The vast majority of those who buy this box already own it, so they don't redownload it. It costs no more to print extra discs that are going to waste. The black box would have cost no less, I'm sure of it. They would've canned it and instead effectively made veryone pay the same price for the orange box and give out extras, ratehr than artificially inflate the orange box to show it has more (hl2, ep1) than the old black box.

Feel free not to buy into Valve's 'bullshit' if you think it's that. The rest of us moderately normal people who aren't batshit insane like you, will enjoy the fact that we are getting a nice expansion to a game, an entirely new multiplayer game that is completely standalone and worthy of being so, due to its quality, AND a nice bonus (portals, peggle extreme, and HL2/Ep1 if we don't own them already) for less than half of what most new games go for on retail.

edit: This all can be taken on board by azsen too.

Nah I'm thinking I just want to play Ep2 really, not that interested in the other stuff like TF2, no time to play it these days. I want an option where I can purchase just Ep2 and be done.

Edit: and yes the prices are inflated. Episode 1 cost me $19.95 USD.

feel free to take valves cock out of your mouth for a minute. so a game can cost $30 individually and than somehow magically can be packaged which than makes them worth less than $20 per title. either they are undercutting themselves or thats how much the games are really worth. although i won't be getting it so it really doesn't concern me in any way. enjoy your "free" games just like those 30pack cokes you buy, you get 6 free...right?

The orange box is well worth it if you intend to play TF2, Ep2 and portal.

I already had the rest, but I've had so much fun with TF2 already. And portal should be good for a puzzle game.
