I got one for my girlfriend for $1100 on Tuesday. It's a pretty good laptop IMHO for a workhorse. Forget about gaming, it's integrated Intel and not even x3100 Intel. But on the plus side it is Core 2 Duo, and is centrino with the Intel wireless etc, Vista Home Premium, 1gb RAM. We thought it was worth it over the /G00 because of the proper Core 2, and the extra RAM, better OS, and Centrino - and the finger print scanner is pretty cool. It's also 14.1", so it's a bit smaller than the norm too. There's room for them to budge on the price
If you get it for $1100, I'm not sure there's much that's better for that price. |

Thanks 'inpact player'
I'll try and drive them down to $1100- or close to it Do you mind saying were you got one for that price in case Hardley Normal wont budge ? Are the integrated graphics adequate for video i.e. downloading video and burning to DVD ? 'Quelch'

Dick Smith natural price. As far as I know, there's a 15% off all computers and laptops for this weekend, so if this posted price is natural, you can get it 15% off in store.

I got a quote from Harvey Norman, and then proceeded to try and get a better price elsewhere. Turned out for once the Harveys price was about as good as it would get. The good guys were willing to do 1085, but they didn't have them in stock. In the end we bought from Myer.
Edit. Holy s**t that's a good price at DSE. But I have my doubts about whether you'd get that in store. When we looked at the -G00, they were saying the special had ended and it was now $1200 for the lower version. So I told him where to put that. I guess we didn't really look into DSE after that, perhaps we should have. For $1000, that's an awesome work laptop. Just as long as you know you're not gaming on it.
