Default Swapping a HD controler board to access data on a burnt our drive?

My mothers computer would not turn on this morning and after some fiddling with my own PSU, and some spare parts I found out that her PUS was dead and had taken the motherboard, HD and a wireless USB stick with it.

She is now back up and running however neither her nor my computer will recognize her original HD (not even when booting). The HD also had a smell coming from it.

The HD was a WD 80gig Caviar SE

I took off the controller board and the smell seems to have been coming from that so I am hopeful that I can replace it and get access to her data for her as its important to her and she did not make a backup.

The back of the drive has the following Info:
LBA: 156301488
MDL: WD800JB-00JJA0
DCM: HSBHNTJCA

I have found a couple of HDs in the "for sale" section, however I am not sure if any WD800JB controller board will work or if the above all needs to be the same?

One of the drives for sale has the following:
LBA: 156301488
MDL: WD800JB-00DUA3
DCM: DSCHNAJCH

Can anyone tell me if this will work, or what information needs to be the same (I am thinking the MDL needs to be the same which is not the case above).

Many thanks in advance!

Thanks terrastrife!

So is "00JJA0" also part of the model with "DCM: DSCHNAJCH" being the firmware or is "00JJA0" the firmware?

P.S 10x500gig HDs! holly crap!

OMG, so close...
One of the drives for sale in the "for sale" section was: MDL: WD800JB-00JJC0.

If only that C was an A .
