I have had my hp pavilion dv1610tn for about 12 months now and normally this would be around the time when I would upgrade. I cant stand 15.4" laptops they just seem huge to me now and the resolution on the screens of 13.3" laptops makes the text too small for reading comfortably. The only 14.1 i have seen is an asus and I found the they wasted heaps of space around the screen with plastic making the laptop bigger than the one I have now. It has webcam/bluetooth/card reader/express card so none of the new laptops have anything that this doesn't, which is the main reason why I have decided to keep it.
I have already upgraded the memory of the laptop. So the only other thing I can do is upgrade the cpu. At the moment it has a t2300 in it. What are my options regarding upgrading to core2duo? I know that it would technically slot right in but I am unsure if the bios would support it? Also, I put the memory in the laptop myself but I do not plan on installing the CPU on my own. Would most computer stores do it or would I have to go to a special notebook repair place? I presume HP wouldnt want to do it (laptop is out of warranty and I dont plan on purchasing the cpu from them) I think that is it. Thanks in advance Daniel
