Default Dell XPS m1730 Notebook

Hi, Anyone had the privilege to use one of these yet?

I was thinking about ordering one as me new 'PC' They look pretty damn cool.
"The ultimate experience in gaming realism with optional AGEIA PhysX processor, Dual NVIDIAŽ GeForceŽ 8700M GT graphics with NVIDIA SLI Technology"

Specs look pretty good but I'm still having dramas finding some good reviews.

Best Deal that I have seen so far on the Dell Australia site for the XPS 1730 has been:

2.4ghz T7700 DuelCore2Duo
Vista Business
4GB RAM
2 X 160gb 7200rpm HD
Dual NVIDIA® GeForce® 8700M GT graphics
Sound Blaster Audio Software
Ageia PhysX Card
Wireless N Card
DL DVD Burner
3Yr Warranty Premium with 3yr Accident Cover
9 Cell Battery
TV-out cable w/ SPDIF
Norton for 15 months
Composite SPDIF Cable
Berklin Bag

$3756.50 that was a deal on the 4/10/07

$3,979.70 that was a deal on the 8/10/07

now same deal is as of 12/10/07 $4423.10

and also waiting for the price to obviously go back down a bit lol nearly $700 rise in 4 days for the same system aint good in my books lol

I personally am going to wait some more due to new processors / gfx cards coming out by the end of this year / start of next year and may get the rumored xps 1530 instead... but still undecided and also waiting to hear real user reviews which should start coming through this/next week (1 already on notebookreview)

but with all that power in the XPS 1730 especially with 2.4ghz DC2D or the extreme processor, duel 7200 rpm drives, 4GB ram, 17 Inch Screen for Photoshop work and duel SLI for games etc it would be good upgrade from my current Inspiron 9100 4.4kg 15.4 inch noisy bohemith lol

I was gunning to get one, but I may just wait till they release the next lot of video cards, cpu's, mobos etc that seem to be very close. Also, Dell has stated there will be a video card upgrade for it when Nvidia brings one out, so that would be nice.

Tis a bit of a shame that the notebook chipsets are still a decent bit behind (still running 965s and 945s in some cases) when desktops are almost up to X38, and the video cards have slipped too 8700s, when the g92 and next ati will be out soon. I remember when I got my 9300, the notebook technology was actually ahead of the desktops, and the video cards were about on par.

Decisions, decisions. I think I too will just wait each Friday till the prices drop a bit as they were a lot better a few weeks ago.
