Default Arghh, Got power??

Anyone familiar with the compaq presario B2800?

My partner was using her lappy about half hour ago and it slipped off the couch (whilst charging cable plugged in) and no longer charges. I can only assume that the connector inside the laptop case has broken as the charging cable works fine (charges my compaq fine) and vice versa my working cable doesn't charge her lappy..

Anyone know how hard it would be to repair? I have a very steady hand with the soldering iron but I dont want to bite off more than I can chew..

So people.. Is it worth me giving it a go or should I pay someone to fix it or not bother at all? If the option was to get someone else to fix it, what sort of costs??

Thanks in advance... now I have to trust my lappy in her hands
