Comparing it to Fenix torches, a Wolfeye and a Surefire, the Dereelight has a very rough feel to the threads (and the 'lube' looks more like CV joint grease), and the quality of the SMO and OP reflectors leaves a little to be desired (my opinion). The positive side of the Dereelight I purchased, was that most of the O ring seals were double O rings, while Fenix typically use 1. I'm still happy with the Dereelight, I just wouldn't call it the best value for money if build quality was important (which is for me). |

Is anyone using their lights with the bike mount?
I'm looking for a torch which help light up a pathway etc for night riding. |

Instead, I zip-tied the MTE 5-mode 100lumen rebel to my helmet (doesn't look as dodgy as it sounds) which work really well for road riding. Not bright enough for mountain biking though.

I made a mount for a Fenix torch out of cheapie light on DE. Have a look here. However, be warned that one person has had their mount break off and their torch broke. I haven't had any problems but always loop the wrist strap around my handle bar incase it comes off. |

just received some torches, one of which is http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.10853
a ultrafire c2 5mode. i put the ultrafire 18650 battery in but i dont get any light. reading the reviews, it seems this torch may need a spacer for better contact. tried some aluminium foil but it only intermittently worked and flickers. any better ideas on getting this torch working ? what kind of spacer do ou guys use ?? the other torches i got , 3w mini cree, romisen f4, aurora wf-600... very happy with those

I'm still waiting for my wf-600, they said it was shipped, though I only received the lantern and not the 600 but a card saying missing sku's are:, it's been like nearly 2 months.

What would be the best all round, cheap single AA torch from DX?
I'm looking at these ones atm: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.6162 http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11133 http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.1993 |

But outside finish is vastly different. The SS version is much heavier but better built. Black model supports 2AA. Do you want multi-modes or do you want single modes? (this is very important) For single mode single AA light: 1. Romisen RC-A3 (floody light and great build quality / brightness) 2. Romisen RC-G3 (more throwy with smaller but brighter hotspot) 2. Ultrafire C3 P4 is also good. Black model supports 2AA extension also. For multi-mode single AA light: 1. Ultrafire C3 5-mode is not bad at all. Brighter with 2AA also. 2. MTE Rebel 5 mode is not bad. But I prefer the Ultrafire C3. Anyways. Check out my review in my sig also for some other ideas. =)

Damn you CPF!!! (not working)
I'd probably just go with a single mode, which is good because the black C3 is no longer on back order. So, is the C3 pretty much the holy grail of cheap AA torches? |

Not really. But it's quite close due to it having a nice look and coz it has an extender option.
There are many types of Ultrafire C3 and I generally recomment the single mode P4 ones. As it has a great runtime and good brightness with all battery setups. Q5 or 5 mode ones may be brighter but only if you use 14500 lithiums.

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11133 It's a stainless steel version of Ultrafire C3 and it's very nice. I will soon review one myself but I know how it'll perform already. Coz it's identical to the 1-mode Ultraifre C3 P4 model I reviewed. It's just that it looks much better as it's brushed stainless steel. ![]() If you want cheaper but just as good/bright, get the Romisen RC-A3. I am planning to get this as well to review as I don't have one yet. But it's already very highly regarded budget AA light at CPF by all members. Anyways. Check my review in sig for some more ideas.

Been trying to read up and it's all just too much for me!
Can someone please point me to the exact LED torch which; - Uses 2 AA batteries - Ability to use as a candle (remove lens so that it throws light all round) - Ideally have a focusable lens (spot to wideangle) - Ideally be able to switch from high power to low power |
