Default Toshiba or others?

I currently have a Toshiba laptop, And was looking at getting another one.
But the better deals seem to be with other manufactueres.. Are they just as good as Toshiba or is there any i should steer clear of?

Cheers

I've had a Twinhead, Toshiba, IBM, Acer, Compaq and HP laptops over the years.

The Toshiba wasn't bad, but it was by no means the best. I think basically all the major manafactures make decent laptops these days, and the biggest difference in build quality comes from which range you select (business or consumer). Even Acer is an okay choice today.

What sort of laptop + price range were you looking at?

Looking around $1500
Something that will play games at a decent FPS.
I used the Dell site to customise a PC and it worked out just over $1500.

Can you recommend anything?

The dell inspiron series are pretty solid. Nothing spectacular to scream about, but that means no gimmicks and a really cheap, good quality laptop that gets the work done.

And from what I heard, Dell's support is pretty good as well

A decent game playing laptop for $1500?
I hope you don't want these games to be new ones...

Im not looking to play bio-shock or anything.
Just maybe Source games, WoW, Hellgate London or games similar.

I found with Dell i can make one with:

2gb DDR
200GB HDD
intel duel core 1.8ghz
7600 go

for about 1500. That i think wouldnt be to bad.
