Maybe suited to here, maybe suited to storage. See how we go.
My laptop currently has a 60gig HDD and i want to replace it with this 100gig HDD i have sitting here in front of me. The problem is that both HDD's currently have recovery partitions on them. The 100gig has a 4gig partition called IBM_SERVICE, and when i view the drive on my desktop is says that it's an 'EISA Configuration' partition. Without pulling the drive out of the laptop yet i'd assume it has the same kind of thing. In Disk Management nothing can be done with the EISA partition, but have read that a linux format should be able to clear it. But what i want to know is how to re-create the partition that is currently on the laptop's original drive, as it contains my operating system recovery disks. As the laptop doesn't have an optical drive, it's all i have. Can this be done?
