Default Almost KFC chicken wings

Almost KFC Deep fried chicken

Notes: My version of home made junk food. When you can buy a kilo of chicken wings for 3 bucks or so and add some flour and spices its cheap as well!!
I make up big batches of the coating mixture and seal it for use, saves mucking around.

Ingredients:
1kg chicken wings
3/4 cup flour
1 1/4 teas salt
1 teas chicken salt
1 1/4 teas black pepper
2 1/2 teas dry mustard (ideally, i use normal cause i never have dried)
1 1/2 teas paprika
1 1/4 teas garlic powder
2 teas dried thyme
1/2 teas ground ginger
1/4 teas dried basil
1/4 teas dried oregano
1 egg and milk mixture

mix all the dried ingredients togther in large bowl.

Steam the chicken until cooked.
dip chicken in egg and milk mix ( one egg and dash of milk beaten) and then dip into coating mixture. Dip into egg mix and coating again if you like a thick crust.
Deep fry in hot oil until coating goes golden (about 3 minutes)

enjoy!!.

PS: Its a little tastier the next day after the spices have had time to soak into the chicken.

Default APS Chicken

According to a friend who's mother worked for Steggles, the Hot and Spicy chicken coating is just flour and all-purpose seasoning.

The 'Hot' and 'Spicy' bit is the chicken's marinade.

Very true, it's not that big a secret. But steggles? I don't know where you live but here the chicken is from Inghams.

its thousand island dressing or (Seafood sauce) as some bogans call it

Reason why i belive this...

it contains Mayo and tomato sauce.... BOTH used in thousand island..... true thousand island has vinegar and gerkin in it too

Thus the Zing factor in the sauce.... therefore that is what i believe

Ok the tower burger has MAYO and TOMATO MUSTARD sauce on it, not thousand island dressing. And as for the zinger marinade i'm still waiting to hear that one...

When I worked at KFC 12 years ago (when it was still actually called 'Kentucky Fried Chicken'), the hot and spicy chicken was not marinated. We used the normal chicken pieces and just used a different coating mix. Back then, the hot and spicy was actually "hot and spicy"
