wow, settle down nancy.
You said the patch was a rumor and they're most likely not working on one, so why would I email them? Do you want to make up your mind?

You don't even have the 360 version, why are you even in here? As far as I can see the thread title says "Pro evolution 2008 XBOX360 Players" not PS3 and PC problems.

Try and keep it on topic hey.

i'm keeping it on topic
problems are on all new gen versions including xbox360
at the time i posted it was a rumor now there is confirmation that they do in fact work on patches and first was already released for pc with ps3 and xbox360 on its way.

anyway as i said, if you don't want to believe me go to pesfan.com forums and read it for yourself, ALL next gen versions are BROKEN

I got the demo, its nowhere near as bad as the PESfan guys are making it out to be.. Sure it slows down a tiny bit in the box, and a bit on on replays, but man, they are just a bunch of whinging pommies it seems

few frames dropping is only one issue here, main problem is that game runs at wrong speed due to way they did(not) sync game speed against timers so its all over the place and it changes from resolution to resolution and camera angles so you playing the game at wrong speed, players run too fast, ball moves too fast and so on and due to differences like this on both ends while you play online you get 100% crap with players teleporting with ball all over the ground and all sorts of other odd things.
you can see what it should be like on pc with the patch and vsync on, its like two different games.
also demo got different issues compared to final version
in short as i said, pes2008 is seriously broken and need fixing.

i've got the pc version, and am playing it now at the moment.
It's not AS BAD as you said it is, but it does suffer from frame rate problem during replay ONLY, not gameplay (although i can say the 2008 is not as smooth as PES7)

is not as BAD? even after the patch there are still online issues with players teleporting around the place........ how more bad do you want this game to be before it is AS BAD as i said?

anyways
install patch set frame skip to off, vsync to on and try the game then if still doesn't feel smooth 100% chage quality to medium and then enjoy super smooth gameplay and what counts the most at correct SPEED.

IGN Review for anyone interested.

Don't let croc scare you off.

Quick few quotes on performance.
Quote:
This year, however, Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 is almost identical across all three key platforms (well, except for the slowdown on the PS3). If you're concerned about the Xbox 360 version, you needn't be. It may even turn out to be the pick of the platforms.
Quote:
Most importantly, big improvements have been made with the in-game engine over PES6. This year, player movement is fast, responsive and snappy, just as it should be.
Quote:
As far as this year's visuals go, PES 2008 performs with a flawless frame rate. There's no slowdown in the box, no matter how crowded it gets. But there's a bizarre exception here - replays have an absolutely shocking frame rate! Quick highlights of a recent foul or attempt on goal stutter past your eyes like a flipbook animation, for no discernable reason. Play a replay back manually with the free camera and it's totally smooth - as is the in-game action. It seems frames have purposely been removed from automatic replays for some godforsaken reason.

IGN got paid ads all in pes2008 and this review is nothing more but a joke
read around for more reviews, some score it as low as 6/10

I was wondering why they had given it such a high score when I was looking around the other day.

Looking forward to reviews of the game post-patch.

PES 2008 release date: 8th of Novemeber (all platforms as far as I know)

They will all basically be the same. Nothing seems to be standing out on one particular platform. Having said that, I think the 360 version was scored higher than PS3 (not sure about PC).

Gamespot
PS3: 6.0
360: 7.0

Can't be bothered re-reading the reviews but they are there.

So for those who do have this...is it any good - excluding obviously the main issue of having shithouse performance?
