Default Dell D505 wifi compatability

Hi i recently bought an Atheros AR5005GS miniPCI wifi card for my HP NX5000 laptop which turns out has a sort of white list in the bios so you cant put in non-HP signed wifi cards, anyways i desided to sell the laptop as i really need one that will support my card.

I was looking at the Dell Latitude D505, i know it has a miniPCI slot but does anyone know if this will take my wifi card ? i dont want to buy it if its just going to screw me over like the HP did.

Thanks, Stephen.

ive never been restricted by any of my dells when putting in a wireless minipci card (had a D400).

remember though that the D505 is only centrino-spec once you put an intel wireless card in

i had a similar problem to you with my IBM T30 though - i couldnt put in my intel wireless card, as it wasnt white listed in the BIOS. a quick google and a batch file rewrote the bios though, got rid of the white list and i could use any miniPCI i liked. im sure the same is available for your NX5000.
