Default Filters with ADSL2+

A friend of mine is getting ADSL2+ soon (as will I soon) and we're not quite up to date with regards to choosing ADSL2+ Line Filters.

1. The friend just has 1 corded phone connected to the phone line. Does this mean that they will only require an inline filter?

2. My home has two telephones (one corded, one not) and an Alarm system that is connected to the phone line. Will I need a Central Filter?

Also, which reputable brands are there for 2+ Filters and where could I obtain them? I was thinking either Jaycar or DSE?

Regards
Kevin

1. Yes, you are correct
2. Yes, you are correct

The Telstra shops sell them, and they're decent ones (used them before). The ones from Jaycar I'm a bit suspect of, and I don't know about the ones from DSE.

I'm currently looking at the Telequip ADSL2+ filters from www.cormain.com.au any they are apparently within Telstra's list of compatible/good filters.

Would you guys agree on this?

you are correct on both counts.

Get C10 filters. They are ADSL2 rated.

How much was yours? Do any other computer stores sell them for a good price?

fyi

I am on ADSL2+ with MySoul and I had friends with stability/dropout issues and ordered a good filter (sorry cant remember the name) but after 4 months of instability with MySoul it came down to the LinkSys WAG54GP2 Router (I had 2 of them). I had Telstra visit twice and tried isolation tests and different filters etc .

I ended up getting a Billion BiPAC 7300GA router and it has been rock solid ever since, ignore the filter and make sure you have a good (stable router).

www.rockaroundtheblock.com.au is where I buy my C10s

and if you ever get a faulty one, C10 will replace them without a problem, which I was very impressed with

Got my C10s from rock around the block. If you contact the C10 distributors, they have a place where you can walk into the warehouse and purchase it too.

ACS 901E2+ and C1025M filters are the best.
