According to the relevant third party, GeForce 9800GX2 estimated price of 449 US dollars, time for the launch of their products on February 14, slightly late ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 the January 28, NVIDIA such a move a leading opponent from the past at the same level product launch time This still seems to be revealing official AMD as a follow-up action and then decide GeForce 9800GX2 formal listing date.

Just dumping the pics to they dont get taken down

From the translated web site:

GeForce 9800GX2 not re-design the new GPU, but the two 65-nm G92 combination with the recent revision of the GeForce 8800GTS 512MB happened, each group with 128 Stream Processors, similar to ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 composition, simpler ATI Radeon HD, is the 3870 single card belonging X2 dual-core products, the GeForce 9800GX2 continuation GeForce 7950GX2 or 7900 GX2 design, PCB version of the two link together, the sharing of a group of 2.0 PCI-Express slots, dual card is a dual-core products, top each with a 512 MB GDD3 GPU memory (1 GB of memory capacity).

I like how they have the Video interface DVI and HDMI equipped with a dual-video and S / PDIF audio output Hole, but i would of liked that they used DisplayPort instead of HDMI since, DisplayPorts seems to be the next big thing for computers.

I have trouble believing that 449 USD rrp... that converts to around $515 AUD on todays exchange rate, then you have to add the Australian premium so that would only work out at like $699?

^ I'd also like that cleared up too... as much as can be with this mess anyway :P

From what i've been reading, they keep saying it's G80 core shrunk down to 65nm.

Now does a G80 core shrunk down to a 65nm core = G92?

Or are there some kinds of differences? Like comparing a S775 P4 with a S775 C2D.

Yes. Thats what all info around the net seem to point too, but yah hard to know 100%. Considering the card is expected to be only 30% faster than a 8800 Ultra.

So does that mean the true next gen is the 9900 series?... When can we expect those? Or is nvidia waiting for the new ATI part to make its move"?

What defines "next-gen" though?

G92 was the "next-gen" from G80... well technically, it was G84 that came after the G80.

What/how much has to be changed before it's considered "next gen"?

based on the hardocp roadmap...

-GeForce 8800 Ultra will be replaced by the GeForce 9800 GX2 in February / March timeframe.

-The GeForce 8800 GTX will be replaced by the GeForce 9800 GTX in February / March timeframe. This card will support Tri-SLI.

Untill we see some leaked benchmarks it will be hard to know what to expect form performance from each card.

not too excited.. just ordered a gts. I dont like the idea of two cards strapped togeather, especially heat and power wise.

will be good for a couple of months then I'll get a GTX perhaps

Creative & other audio companies are going to need a new interface. These video cards are just getting way out of hand. Expansion slot? What's that??

They have started releasing a basic pci-e x1 sound card, i'd expect companies like Auzentech & Creative to start pushing pci-e cards this year.
