I've done a lot of reading. hyperfocal distance is something i am struggling to understand, to the point where i have been avoiding the articles/threads!

Looks like its time to hit those sites again though :-)

I've been happy with my Nikon D80 + sigma 10-20 combo. I think i have got some good (really good) shots. But something i havent nailed yet is that massive dof from close to far. I took some shots at f11 and thought the background was out of focus or soft, to the point where i had a thread on whether my lens was soft or if f11 was the cause. Peoples opinions and arguments convinced me it wasnt the lens (which was comforting). But since f11 was "soft" i figured f22 would be worse.

I'll read about hyper-dist though.
