thanks for the background/experiences from owners, sounds like a good alternative brand

I would just chime in and say i am very happy with my 42" Hisense LCD.
Along side the 1080p Plasmas it was a bit washed out, and not quite as clear, but it was also $1000 cheaper. After hooking it up at home i am very happy with the quality. maybe if you are going to run nothing but a bluray theatre at home you might look towards a more advanced panel, but for home use it's great. |

Where else would you use one other than home realistically?

I've got a 42" Hisense at home. Good price, about $1250. In the shop, there was noticeable difference in brightness between it and the Series 6 Samsung, but it certainly didn't look bad.
Using it at home, pretty much only with my 360 (and occasionally videos running from the 360) I couldn't be happier. I only use it in a darker than usual room, so that may have something to do with it, but I think it's awesome. I wouldn't be any happier with the picture of a series 8/9 Samsung. |

I'm thinking about buying the HI106V68PZ - 42" LCD 100 Htz.
It's on sale for $1591 at JB, I haggled them down to $1575 (lol) . I can normally haggle down more than that but I don't think there's much room to move on this model. Does anyone here have that one? If so what are your experiences with it. |

I've had a 40" hisense LCD for about a year now.
Pretty happy with it, the sound goes a bit funny every now and then (like a vibrating noise) but other than that its been great. I should probably get that fixed on the 3yr warranty. Has anyone dealt with hisense warranty before? if so, good experience? |

I've dealt with a few people who have used their Hisense warranty. Pretty good response usually - lodge the claim, and a few days later a courier arrives with another tv (replacement warranty) and takes your old one away

We bought two hisense 42" lcd full hdtv's for work. For the price it was a bargain, we've run these things constantly for powerpoint presentations and video.... had them for a few months now, and they haven't skipped a beat. Has all the right connections, hdmi/vga/dvi/component... audio quality is shite but we don't really care. And sure it looks cheap from the bezel and remote but I can't fault the panel itself.
A resounding yes over here. |

I bought the 42" 100hz V68. I am quite unhappy with the TV at 1080p as MEMC (motion smoothing) and 3D Noise Reduction has to be turned off or the picture suffers from ghosting and jittering, so you essentially have to run it at 50Hz anyway.
I complained and JB HiFi accepted to give me a refund. |

Tell me more about this issue? The 100hz motion flow seems to look pretty good in store on Bluray over component. How bad was it? Were you using HDMI?
