EDIT: I knew it was somewhere... Still don't think it's the one I used...
Nah I wasn't trying to have a go or anything mate, just 64bit browsers on windows are good, as long as you don't want most major plugins, java being the exception.

But thanks for that link Didn't have that.

It's amusing how Linux distros are one up on windows with 64-bit browser support

You would need to talk to adobe about that

We do have Java x64 which works very well. - Tho how many firefox addons work on firefox x64 for linux/windows? Not many I guess.

And that is why I won't buy it.

I haven't kept up at all with this Windows 7 thing.

Whats the main selling points of it? What can you do with Windows 7 that you can't with Vista?

I do indeed have some parts of the install when it is slow.....not sure why, I figure it's some hardware issue. But I just wait, no biggie really.

It's a limitation of the 32bit OS.
You need a 64bit OS to show/use more than 3.25gb.

Quick question,

I have a Windows 7 Professional key but the only media i have to install is for Windows 7 Ultimate. Are you able to install Professional using the Ultimate media?

Im just wondering if i should install another version of Professional and then change the keys after install?

Avoid headaches?

I hated Vista.. went back to XP after a month of using Vista

I used 7 for a week before it ended up on all three of my systems.
Breathed a whole new lease of life into my DV6 lappy

Win 7 is similar to vista in appearance and thats about it.
Vista was after all just a GUI upgrade to XP - more or less
This time they have changed the OS backend more comprehensively.
New taskbar and start menu...
Win7 is what Vista was expected to be.

7 is a far better operating system, lighter than Vista and a shitload faster.

Some say this is the best OS upgrade since win95

But here, let an expert spell it out for you:

You don't understand, it's a limit of the 32bit OS.

No service pack wont do anything. 64bit op needed.

In windows vista 32bit with the service pack they made it so it showed you had 4gb installed but it still only used 3.25 gb when you right click my computer icon

To see how much memory it actually has access to go to task manager and performance tab. Down bottom it will show the total physical memory. If you did this in vista with a 32bit installation it would show 3.25 for you.

By the way i noticed you got telstar tx5 in your sig. I used to have one of those. It was 88 tx5 turbo.

Default Importing Win 7?

Has anyone considered importing Windows 7 and if there are any hurdles involved, (besides fakes obviously)? There are a few emerging on Ebay from the UK and a full retail version boxed can be had for $160 or so which is $100 cheaper than you can get it in AUS. Are there any region restrictions etc?

Cheers, Deus.
