Pressing the hash key only seems to change it between predictive and non predictive text......

I must be missing something really obvious here.

great phone nice and slim and good sound.

only problem i had with the phone is that it is very quiet when ringing, can hardly hear it if there is much background noise

I've been looking to buy a new phone. Been looking at the Nokia 6300, how does it compare to this phone? I'm not really too fussed about music as i know the 6300 has a built in music player. Does the menu lag on the 5310?

^^ I've never owned a 6300 so not sure how they compare. But the 5310 has no lag as far as I can tell....nice and zippy.

In terms of lag the 6233 used to lag for about 5 seconds whilst it opened a music folder with about 1.5Gig of songs. This phone goes straight in, no lag whatsoever with heaps of music files.

Very happy so far. I think they could have done better with the headset but it's a 3.5 jack so I can easily just buy another set.

Have you tried holding the number for 2 seconds? This will give you 1 number (which is slow for typing in a 10digit mobile phone number).

I got a 2630 because of its size and weight, but the lag is killing me (what do you expect for $150)... also didnt realise how much I used the camera on my k800 untill its gone

Just tried it, that's the one, thanks dude! No where in the manual (that I could find) does it say that, strange.

Just picked one of these up on Virgin. Red unfortunately

Seems like a decent phone. Soooo small compared to my 6280 shit box.

Is there a way to reduce the font size in the menus?

You can buy the faceplates of ebay pretty cheaply.

Don't think you can change the menu font sizes, only messaging, contacts and web font sizes.

Anyone here also experiencing freezing problems during mp3 playback (freezes, then restarts) ? Seems to be quite a common problem and is said to be fixed by the 3.63 firmware update, but the update is not out for Australia yet (model 0558554) http://www.nokia.com.au/A4767445
And is there a way to use the music shortcut keys while phone is locked?

I'm not experiencing the problems but I just updated to the new firmware a few days ago,.....I'm in Aus.

Maybe keep trying....

Don't think there is a way to lock the keys.

Anyone know how to change the recording (of video) time limit from 21 seconds?? Annoying the bejeesus out of me. I have absolutely gigs on the microsd card and it seems to want to record to phone memory and only record 21 seconds at a time.

Ideas? Is it just a limitation? Surely it can't be....

Just like to point out that the new 5.81 firmware is out through the Nokia Software Updater. So far no freezing problems

Ah excellent, thanks for that. I didn't even know there was a new firmware update out.

Any enhancements or just the usual bug fixes?
