Is the sun directly shining into the tank?
Are your blinds open 6-8 hours a day?
If not, then no, it's not enough.

When did you plant them? Same time you starting cycling the tank 3 weeks ago?
Could also be the trauma of replanting. Roots were damaged.

What are Power compacts? Have a look under the hood of your Aquaone510.
They are more powerful than normal T8 fluro bulbs and more compact in size.

'Natural' light from the sun coming in your windows ect dosnt do much for the plants but is very good at growing algae, your Power Compacts should be ok for low light plants. You could try java ferns, they do great in low light. Or any of the hygrophilia (sp) plants would do well.

Yea your actually right. My bad, i just thought it looked like my red tiger but was green

And yea like that site says its a bog plant so its going to die if kept underwater Thats one BIG rule of planted aquariums.... KNOW what plant your buying before you buy it, id say %50-70 of plants for sale at fish shops arnt ment to live underwater and WILL die no matter how much you look after them.

^^^^ I should read the thread properly ^^^^ What Kronic said!

I don't think your large plant is actually an aquatic plant. It may die soon as it was never meant to be submerged, but some LFS just try to make money and don't tell their customers this.

The secret is to get plants that work well with your water.

I use liquid fertalizer every week or two and leave the ligths on for at least 8 hours a day (sometimes 14 hours a day).

The "Blue Stricta" seems to go very wel for me, I let it grow out of the water then pinch it's tops off and stick it back into the sand and it sees to take off again. Usually one plant lasts about a year and can be pinched 3 times before it looks crappy.

I dont change water very often so maybe that helps as our water is very alkaline.

Fine sand tends to help ratehr than pebbles.

Seems it can 'survive' underwater pretty well, but will hardly grow at all unless its out of the water.

I got some fish on tuesday after being satisfied that my tank had cycled. Today i found out 2 Neon Tetras had dissapeared upon last count. i can't find their floating bodies so i am stunned as to how they have disappeared. They are in a community tank with Guppies, Harlequin Rasboras and A Platy so i am clueless. Anyone got any ideas.

Also is it normal for small little bubbles, like talking micro size to be floating to the top of the tank and then collecting ontop?

Cheers

Bubbles are fine, its probally just co2. neons die ALL THE TIME, i started with 15 now have about 7 and iv only found 1 body, they get eaten, plus there so small they can rot away in only a day.

Co2??? MY Water is slightly on the alkaline side about 7.6 PH so i doubt its CO2.... Oxygen bubbles maybe?
