Click build then select your configuration. All the 1500s can have a 8600m.

Whats the situation with upgrading the ram on Dell Vostro?

I like the specs and price but Ram from Dell is way to expensive.

either under the keyboard or under the flap on the bottom, either way takes about 30 seconds to put in yourself and is a user-serviceable item (will not void warranty).

I was just concerned as my mother has a dell d400 and it has the underneath ram flap, which has 1 x user serviceable ram module and another ram module somewhere else in the laptop.

Dell always have those offers running. They change the exact offer each week (sometimes it'll be a free RAM upgrade; sometimes it'll be a free HDD upgrade; sometimes they just offer a discount).
